Chinese carmaker SOUEAST has launched a new three-row SUV in the Middle East. Called SOUEAST S08 Luxury, it is based on the S08DM model, but features a conventional petrol engine. This new SUV is now available via Elite Group Holding as the official retail partner of the brand, with a starting price of AED 99,900 (exclusive of VAT).

The new S08 Luxury SUV is available at AED 99,900 in Dubai. It comes with a standard warranty of 10-year/1,000,000 km, along with roadside assistance of up to 5 years and 3 years of free servicing. It is available through Elite Group Holding in the UAE.
Engine specs and performance
Powering the S08 Luxury is a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo petrol engine that makes 254 bhp and 390 Nm. It is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission and a 2WD configuration.
The SUV gets three drive modes: Eco, Normal, and Sport. Meanwhile, it also comes with a Cloud-Sense CDC Adaptive Air Suspension. The latter can adjust up to 100 times per second with up to 20ms response time.

Exterior details
On the outside, the S08 Luxury looks identical to the S08 DM Hybrid to an extent. It features a sleek grille with chrome highlights, sharp LED headlights, 20-inch 12-spoke alloy wheels, semi-flush door handles, split vertical LED taillights, and an upright stance.
In terms of dimensions, it measures 4,810 mm in length, 1,930 mm in width, and 1,705 mm in height. It also features a wheelbase of 2,820 mm, while offering a cargo space of up to 1,780 litres (with the third row folded).
Customers can choose from various exterior colour options for the S08 Luxury: Midnight Blue, Cosmic Silver, Snow White, Olive Gray, and Starlit Black.
Interior and features
The interior design of the S08 Luxury boasts a dual-tone beige-grey theme with leather upholstery. The dashboard features a three-spoke steering wheel, a 10.25-inch digital driver console, a 15.6-inch vertical infotainment screen that can swivel up to 10 degrees, and LED ambient lighting.
It also features powered front seats with ventilation, a three-zone climate control, PM 2.5 air filter, air quality management system, solar control glass, and rear AC vents to beat the UAE summer heat. The second-row seats can be reclined by 25-41 degrees, while the front passenger seat gets an electric Boss Mode.
The S08 Luxury comes with features such as 50W wireless charging, panoramic sunroof, 12-speaker sound system with a subwoofer, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Type-C USB charging ports, electric tailgate, etc.
It also gets a complete suite of ADAS safety features:

SOUEAST S08 Luxury vs S08 DM Hybrid
With both models being nearly identical, the major difference between the S08 Luxury variant and the S08 DM Hybrid is the powertrain. The S08 Luxury features a pure petrol 2.0-litre turbocharged engine, while the S08 DM Hybrid features a plug-in hybrid engine. Other minimal changes include different bumpers, different alloys, etc.
Overall, the S08 DM Hybrid is more powerful and efficient. However, the S08 Luxury offers better value-for-money.
