Mercedes-Benz G-Class Cabriolet: What to expect?
If you love the old G-Class convertible, then we have good news for you. Mercedes has shared an online teaser of what looks like the return of the G-Class Cabriolet model.
The teaser shows the upper silhouette image with a retractable roof and a rear-quarter design that looks identical to the Mercedes-Maybach G 650 Landaulet.
From what we could think, it will be a manually retractable roof design that Mercedes will offer with a variety of optional accessories for off-roading and camping.
Over the years, the design and overall outlook of the G-Wagon has been largely unaltered. The same is expected for the upcoming G-Class Cabriolet. Although it might be equipped with new colourways and new alloy wheels for a different profile.
Mercedes-Benz G-Class Cabriolet: Engine specs
As far as the engine and drivetrain are concerned, it will be based on the current G-Class lineup. If so, then customers will have the option of the 3.0-litre inline-six 443 bhp/559 Nm engine and the more powerful 4.0-litre, V8, bi-turbo engine offering 577 bhp/849 Nm.
On the hardtop variant, Mercedes also offers an all-electric EQ variant. However, the brand has not received positive feedback for it, and therefore, it might not make it on the Cabriolet. Although we would love to get a surprise.
UAE launch and price
The Mercedes G-Class enjoys a solid ground in the Middle East. In fact, it is one of the top-selling luxury SUVs, especially with its AMG-sourced engine.
Mercedes will debut the G-Class Convertible at the Munich Motor Show in the next few days. The global launch is expected later this year in Europe. Therefore, it is expected to debut in the UAE early next year.
The expected price of the upcoming G-Class Convertible in the UAE is AED 650,000 to AED 850,000.
