What to expect from the upcoming Xpeng GX?

The new Xpeng GX is going to be the latest flagship model for the company in China. Xpeng has released the first set of its official photos, revealing a design that looks familiar to the Range Rover.
As seen in the photos, the upcoming GX SUV features a streamlined and sophisticated design language. Its boxy silhouette is accentuated by design traits like the connected LED taillights, sleek LED headlights, chiselled body panels, flared wheel arches with machine-cut alloy wheels, and a panoramic glass roof.
Although not much is known about the GX, it will be 5.2 metres long, which will position it against the Range Rover. Meanwhile, the brand has taken the inspiration from the Range Rover itself, which is evident from the slanted A- and B-pillar design. The upper half of the side profile looks very Range Rover-like.
The current details about the interior and features are unknown. However, the exterior photos reveal that it does not get a LiDAR safety suite, which makes us believe that it will focus on the radar-based autonomous safety features. Another interesting feature is the split tailgate - a design trait that is now a common trend among the flagship Chinese models.

Online reports suggest that it will get a six-seat layout, which is likely to focus on passenger comfort, and it is likely to be equipped with top-notch features like the rear seat entertainment package, massaging rear seats with ventilation, and more.
Powering the Xpeng GX is likely to be an EREV or extended range electric vehicle setup, which is likely to offer more than 1,000 km range. Xpeng calls this new EREV the ‘Xpeng Kunpeng Super Electric System’, and it supports the 5C battery charging.
When will it launch?
Xpeng is most likely to reveal the entire car at the upcoming Beijing Auto Show in April 2026. The SUV will be launched around 400,000 Yuan (approximately AED 211,000). We believe that it will be launched in the Middle East by the end of this year.
Cars24 UAE says
The all-new Xpeng GX will position the Chinese carmaker strongly against the premium rivals like the Range Rover in the global market. With a strong design and modern cabin, its EREV powertrain is likely to elevate the nameplate of the brand among the international premium car manufacturers.
