Zeekr 8X - Everything we know so far

Zeekr 8X

Chinese car brand Zeekr is all set to challenge the premium rivals like the Range Rover Sport in 2026 with its new full-size SUV, the 8X. The 8X will be positioned below the flagship 9X SUV internationally, and it will be launched in China in the first half of 2026.

The brand has revealed the exterior photos and powertrain details of the 8X. It is based on Geely’s SEA-S platform, which supports 900V architecture, enabling fast charging for its plug-in hybrid battery.

The exterior design of the 8X is sleek and more SUV-ish, which makes it more identical to the Rolls-Royce Cullinan. However, the design elements like the vertical slat chrome grille ensure its unique identity.

Zeekr 8X

The Zeekr 8X is a big SUV as it measures 5,100 mm in length, 1,780 mm in height, and 1,998 mm in width. This makes it even bigger than the Range Rover Sport and the Audi Q7.

The 8X will be offered with two- and three-row seating configurations in China with 5- and 7-seat styling. The 5-seater version is likely to offer a massive boot space as well. Meanwhile, it will get 20-, 21-, and 22-inch wheel size options, with the car's total weight ranging between 2660 kg to 2820kg.

The interior design and features are yet to be revealed, but Zeekr has confirmed that it will come loaded with the LiDar and ADAS safety features.

Engine specs, battery, range of the Zeekr 8X

Powering the 8X is a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine that is rated to produce 275 bhp of peak power. While this might sound less, it is further paired with a battery pack (available in two sizes - 55.1 kWh and 70 kWh).

This powertrain is further connected to the quad electric motors, each present on individual tyres. With the help of this, the cumulative power is recorded as 1,382 bhp, making it one of the most powerful SUVs in the world.

The 8X is claimed to sprint 0-100 km/h in just 3.1 seconds, placing it in the sports car category performance. Meanwhile, the WLTP-claimed EV-only range of the 55.1kWh battery is 256 km, while the 70kWh battery pack can do up to 328 km.

Since it is based on a 900V platform, it can be charged 20-80 percent in just 9 minutes, while 10-80 percent juice can be gained in only 10.3 minutes.

The Zeekr 8X also features the trademark Haohan AI Digital Chassis, which scans the road and adjusts the suspension in real-time, thus offering a flawless ride quality.

When will the Zeekr 8X launch in the UAE?

As of now, Zeekr plans to launch the 8X in China before June 2026. It will be launched in the rest of the world by late 2026. We suspect that it will debut in the UAE by late 2026.

As far as the pricing is concerned, it could be positioned around AED 210,000 to AED 300,000.
