What to expect from the 2026 BYD Atto 3?

As per the leaked details from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, China, the updated Atto 3 or the BYD Yuan Plus will offer more power, more range, and better performance.

While the current model is sold with a 49.92 kWh and a 60.48 kWh Blade battery pack option, offering 430 km and 510 km of range respectively, the new model will get a bigger, 74.88 kWh battery pack with 650 km of WLTC-claimed range. 

Interestingly, this battery pack will offer 107 bhp more power, as compared to the 150 kW electric motor. Its total power output is rated at 308 bhp, while the top speed is also reported to have increased to 180 km/h from 160 km/h.

The bigger battery pack has increased the kerb weight of the car to 1,880 kg, which is 190-255 kg more than the current model. Dimensions of the updated model remain unchanged.

New visual changes

As reported on the MIIT China website, the updated Atto 3 EV will get the new, grey aerodynamic alloy wheels. However, the rest of the design will be unchanged.

Similarly, the interiors and the equipment list are likely to be unaltered. It will come equipped with features like the rotating infotainment screen, ADAS safety, ambient lighting, wireless charging, dual-zone AC, and more.

UAE launch and price

BYD is expected to launch the updated Atto 3 in China initially. However, it will come to the UAE for sure, but not before mid-2026. 

The current Atto 3 Premium (60.48 kWh) is priced from AED 110,000. We expect the 74.88 kWh version to be positioned around AED 130,000.
