As revealed by Toyota Europe, the Hilux EV is going to feature a ladder-frame chassis, but it will feature a safe battery placement, which will ensure that the off-road crux of the Hilux nameplate remains unhindered.
Powering the electric Hilux model will be a 59.2 kWh LFP battery pack, which will power the two electric motors placed on each individual axle. The front axle electric motor is rated for 205 Nm torque, while the rear axle electric motor is rated for 268.6 Nm of peak torque.

Moving on, the WLTP-claimed real-world driving range of the Hilux EV is rated to be approximately 240 km. However, it does get a healthy payload capacity of 715 kg, while the towing capacity is rated at 1.6 tonnes, which places it in the ICE category of pickup trucks.
As of now, the charging details of the Hilux EV have not been revealed, but it is reported online that it will feature the segment-leading quick charging time so that users spend the minimum time while charging. The charging port has been placed on the front-left fender for easy access.
Additionally, Toyota Europe revealed that the Hilux EV is not destined for hardcore off-road use, but rather focuses on the fleet operators and urban users. The brand has also taken into account the fact that it will not be used with full payload capacity or used ruggedly.

It also gets the Multi-Terrain Select system with multiple driving modes that will offer the same level of torque as the L4 mode on the conventional 4x4 pickup trucks.
Toyota will launch the new-gen Hilux in Europe early next year. It is expected to launch in the Middle East and the UAE car markets by mid-2026.

The first-ever electric Hilux is going to be a game-changer for Toyota internationally.
