Porsche has taken the cover off its latest iteration of the Taycan electric sports sedan. The new Taycan not only features new design and feature upgrades, but also gets a new E-Shift system that offers a host of features to the driver and mimics the fake gear shifting feel.
With that said, Porsche has also discontinued the Taycan Sport Turismo and Taycan Cross Turismo models, which comes as a big disappointment for buyers worldwide. Now, the only option to get an electric Porsche Taycan is this fully-loaded version.
What are the changes to the 2027 Porsche Taycan?
New E-Shift system added

The big addition on the 2027 Taycan is the new E-Shift system. This system uses a host of features, and it provides a real driving experience of a mechanical gearbox.
This is achieved by a set of technical updates made to the car, which include the addition of the paddle shifters, eight simulated gears, fake gear shift jerks, a virtual rev counter, a gear shift light, simulated engine braking, and a dedicated Porsche Electric Sport Sound system.
While the E-Shift system is not first-in-segment, it certainly offers the driver a proper driving experience of a mechanical gearbox and simulation feel.
Improved battery range

Another big update is the improved battery range. The new Porsche Taycan can now be had with the Summer tyres, which can improve its WLTP-claimed range by 20 km, thus offering a maximum range of up to 700 km.
Manthey Kit for the Turbo GT variant

Porsche is also offering the renowned Manthey Kit for the Turbo GT variant. This kit includes a host of body kit upgrades, including lightweight alloy wheels, new sporty bumpers with improved airflow, active aerodynamics, a wing spoiler, carbon ceramic brakes, and more.
Additionally, it gets the Weissach Package, which opens a new world of customisation for buyers. This package includes a wide range of custom exterior and interior updates for a high level of personalisation. Porsche will offer this kit as a retrofit, as well as a factory-fitted option.
Improved infotainment and AI voice controls

Another update is the updated Porsche Digital Interaction, aka the new infotainment system. This is a new software that not only offers the updated user interface, but it also adds more responsiveness, more ease of use, and more wireless smart features.
The updated infotainment also gets the new AI-assisted voice commands. Meanwhile, the screen can show the 3D model of the car in the specific colour and customised kits. This system also offers customisable widgets to access navigation, music, and more controls.
Users can also update their infotainment with the OTA or over-the-air support. The wireless phone charging pad now offers up to 25W of charging.
When will the 2027 Porsche Taycan launch?
The new 2027 Taycan is now officially announced for the global launch. We suspect that it will land on the UAE shores by the end of this year. The new updates will likely alter its current prices, which start at AED 443,900.
Should you wait for it?
Since Porsche has axed the Turismo Wagon versions, the new Taycan will now be available only in the sedan variants. Hence, if you were planning to get the unique wagon versions, the correct time is right now. However, the new Taycan offers slight updates, which makes it worth waiting for only if you want the sedan variants.
