What to expect from the upcoming Peugeot e-208 GTi?

The upcoming Peugeot e-208 GTi has been unveiled ahead of the official debut. The digital reveal took place as Peugeot shared the first set of official photos of the GTi.
While the brand did showcase the GTI concept last year, the production model is neatly inspired by it. Additionally, unlike the ‘regular’ GTI nameplates, this one is a fully electric model.
Speaking of the design, the exterior is based on the ICE version, but the GTI-specific changes are evident. There is ample use of red accents on the bodywork, grille, wheels, and body kit, along with the GTI badge on the tailgate.

The official photos show the car with minimal gap between the tyres and the fenders, hinting that it will get a reworked and lowered suspension and the new GTI-spec alloy wheels. The white exterior paint in the official photos looks attractive and sporty as well.
On the inside, it gets a driver-focused design for the dashboard, and the floating infotainment screen shows drive telemetry. The two-spoke steering wheel, dashboard, door panels, and seats all feature Alcantara leather work with red stitching.
The ambient lighting has also been tuned to offer a red, sporty feel to the cabin. The overall design, space, and features are likely going to be the same as the ICE version.

Meanwhile, the electric powertrain is what we are excited about. Last year, when Peugeot showcased the concept, it was equipped with a 54 kWh CATL battery pack and a single electric motor offering 276 bhp and 345 Nm.
This concept car did a 0-100 km/h sprint in 5.7 seconds, while it had a top speed of 180 km/h. We believe that these specs will remain as it is on the production-spec Peugeot e-208 GTI.
When will it launch?

Peugeot will officially reveal the electric 208 GTi on June 12, 2026. This electric hot hatchback is suspected to be launched in the global market by September 2026. Considering that Peugeot cars do well in the Middle East, we are hopeful that Peugeot will bring it by early next year.
Cars24 UAE says
The Peugeot 208 is already a popular hot hatchback known for its handling characteristics globally. Its electric GTI version is likely to offer an equivalent performance with long-range and tasteful visual outlook.
