Everything you need to know about the BYD Atto 1

The Atto 1 is the cheapest electric car of BYD worldwide. Following the trail of the South Asian market launches, BYD has now launched the Atto 1 in the Thai market as well. The best part is its attractive price of around AED 48,000 (including the taxes).
The Atto 1 basically sits below the Dolphin EV, and it features a cute and futuristic design. The front end gets the sharp LED DRLs and a sloping bonnet for better aerodynamic efficiency, while the rear profile gets the sharp LED lights and an upright stance.
It measures shy of 4 meters in length for easy city use, but BYD has also managed to offer a spacious cabin for a small family. The build quality is high, and the soft-touch materials used along with the brushed aluminium finishes make it feel upmarket.

On the inside, it features a 7-inch digital instrument cluster and a big 10.1-inch floating infotainment screen with features like wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, leather seats with electric adjustment, NFC, PM filter, cruise control, auto AC, and more.

The Atto 1 is available in two versions: Essential and Premium. The Essential is packed with a 30.08 kWh Blade battery, offering 74 bhp and 135 Nm, along with 240 km WLTP-claimed range. Meanwhile, the Premium variant is packed with a 38.88 kWh Blade battery, which offers 304 km WLTP-claimed range, and does 0-100 km/h in 9.1 seconds.
It has also achieved a 5-star NCAP crash test rating with its strong build quality and features like six airbags, a reverse camera, and more.
How does the BYD Atto 1 make sense for the UAE?
The electric car charging infrastructure is expanding rapidly across the Middle East. The rapid growth of the charging infrastructure has also attracted numerous Chinese EV makers, resulting in a good market build-up for electric cars.
The Atto 1 is a strong contender in the affordable electric car segment, especially if it is launched in the UAE. It is cheap to buy, packed with features, safe, and has a decent long-range capacity for everyday city use.
Cars24 UAE says
