Design, platform, dimensions

The new EV2 is based on Kia’s E-GMP architecture. It is a compact crossover that boasts a boxy design with smart futuristic features like the ‘tiger’ front fascia with the dual vertical LED DRLs, a sculpted bumper, and vertical headlights.

The boxy design is accompanied by the aerodynamic dual-tone alloy wheels, retractable door handles, and rugged body cladding. The EV2 measures as follows:

Interior and features

The cabin design of the EV2 is spacious and futuristic. It features the unique double-D-cut steering wheel with two spokes and physical controls, a trinity display with a 12.3-inch digital screen for the instrument cluster, a 12.3-inch infotainment screen, a 5-inch AC control screen, and an optional 4-seater layout with reclining rear seats.

The light-themed cabin of the EV2 is also equipped with the latest features, as follows:

Battery specs, power, and range

Powering the Kia EV2 are two battery packs as follows:

• 42.2kWh (LFP) - 147 bhp power (Standard) and 317 km range
• 61 kWh (NMC) - 136 bhp power (Long Range) and 453 km range

The EV2 supports up to 118kW DC charging, which can juice it 10-80% in 30 minutes.

What is the price of the Kia EV2?

The launch price of the Kia EV2 in Europe is EUR 26,600 to EUR 33,490. This translates into roughly AED 112,870-142,104 (as of today’s exchange rate).

When will it launch in the UAE?

Kia is launching the EV2 in a phased manner globally. After Europe, it is likely to go on sale in the US, and later it will arrive in the UAE. We suspect that it can possibly get launched in the Middle East later this year.
