What has changed on the 2026 Toyota Yaris Cross?

Exterior design

The new Yaris Cross remains largely unchanged on the outside. However, the front has now gained a more slender profile with a new body-coloured honeycomb grille that is seamlessly integrated in the front bumper.

The front bumper itself is all-new with a clean design and new curves and creases. The lower portion of the front bumper features the LED foglights on the top-spec trims, while a sleek aluminium skid plate accentuates its overall appearance.

The side profile gets the new alloy wheels, while the rear profile is mostly unchanged. Meanwhile, the GR Sport trim also gets the unique front and rear bumpers and GR badging on the tailgate with red accents on the bodywork.

Toyota has also added new colour options to the Yaris Cross: Precious Bronze (dual-tone) and Persian Salt.

Interior features

On the inside, the new Yaris Cross features an updated Platinum trim. The three-tone stitching is accentuated by the platinum elements on the sports seats.

The higher-spec variants boast a leather dashboard with leather seats. The SakuraTouch material is used in the cabin that is made from a plant-derived PVC sustainable material.

New features now include the auto-folding mirrors as standard, ambient lighting, wireless charging, and electric tailgate. The Toyota Safety Sense ADAS now features a parking support brake and blind-spot monitoring.

Engine specs

Mechanically, the new Yaris Cross is unchanged. It features the Hybrid 130 and Hybrid 115 engine options, making 128 bhp and 114 bhp, respectively.

The GR Sport trim comes with the Hybrid 130 engine as standard. Both of these engines offer high fuel economy and tractable city driving response.

The new Yaris Cross will be launched in the UK and the European market by November 2026. Its prices are likely to be revised slightly. Ironically, this model is not sold in the Middle East.
