The latest fuel prices for September 2026 have been announced in the UAE. The new fuel rates have witnessed yet another jump from August 2026 prices. The reason behind the continuous increase in fuel prices is the volatile crude oil market. The crude oil prices have been consistently fluctuating since February 2026, ever since the Iran-US conflict broke out.

As mentioned above, the petrol rates in September 2026 have been increased uniformly by AED 0.20 per litre in the UAE. However, it is diesel fuel that has undergone a substantial increase of AED 0.50 per litre.

What do the new fuel rates mean for motorists in the UAE?

UAE fuel prices are adjusted at each month’s end by the fuel price committee after observing market trends and changes in crude oil prices. The latest fuel prices in the region have undergone a steep hike by the mid 2026, which saw its first relief in July 2026. However, the fuel rates rose once again from August 2026, which is followed by the newly announced rates for September 2026, which saw the second consecutive hike.

The rise in fuel prices will eventually make commute costs go higher in the region. This is expected to affect private transportation costs, including taxi fares. Meanwhile, a steep rise in diesel prices will eventually reflect on everyday items that are transported by diesel trucks and commercial vehicles.
