Lexus has begun testing the updated NX crossover internationally. The upcoming 2027 Lexus NX facelift was recently spotted at the Nurburgring circuit for the first time. Read below what the expected changes are that it will bring.

What to expect from the 2027 Lexus NX?
Exterior changes
Spotted in Europe during the pre-launch testing, the upcoming NX facelift was seen with partial camouflage and F-Sport trim. The black colour test car had a new front fascia with the new grille, a protruding front bumper, a curvy bumper lip, and a set of new LED headlights.
The side profile looked a lot unchanged from the current model. Even the alloy wheels boasted a similar design to the current model, but we believe that these will be updated with a more cutting-edge design at the time of the launch.
Meanwhile, the rear design appeared largely unchanged. The new changes that we expect include a new rear bumper and a set of revised, sharper LED taillights.
Interior and feature updates
While the new spy images do not give us a glimpse of the interior design, we suspect that it will feature similar changes that we saw on the 2026 Lexus ES update.
These updates are likely to include a new steering wheel with the updated “Lexus” lettering, which will replace the outgoing “L” badge. Additionally, it will offer an updated digital driver console and a bigger infotainment screen with more features.
Lexus could also introduce the new leather trims on the inside, including the sustainable material options. Other key features are likely to include the Mark and Levinsen sound system, ADAS safety suite, electric seats with ventilation/heating/massaging, dual-zone AC, and more.
Engine specifications
Powering the global-spec 2027 Lexus NX will be the same engine options as seen on the current model. These are likely to include the 2.5-litre turbo petrol engine, a 2.5-litre HEV/Hybrid, and a 2.5-litre PHEV/plug-in hybrid.
When will it launch?
The updated Lexus NX crossover is likely to be introduced in the global market by the end of this year. We believe that it could be launched in the Middle East in the first quarter of 2027. Additional features and an updated design are likely to increase its price, which currently starts at AED 213,000.
