What is special about the BMW Z4 Final Edition?
The BMW Z4 nameplate is going to end soon. The brand has already announced that the Z4’s production will end in March 2026 globally. This comes after the Toyota Supra, a sibling model that was jointly developed by Toyota and BMW, got discontinued earlier this year.
The current-gen Z4 is a popular car globally, and especially in the UAE. It is an affordable yet fun-to-drive sports car that offers staggering looks and a proper go-kart-like driving feel, which is a unique experience.
As far as the Final Edition Z4 is concerned, it features visual and cosmetic upgrades that make it stand out from the standard Z4. For starters, it gets the beautiful Frozen Matte Black exterior paint shade, which is enhanced by the Shadowline gloss black highlights.
Meanwhile, it gets the M Sport brake callipers that are painted red for a sporty appearance. However, the body kit and the crucial parts like the 19-inch front and 20-inch rear, staggered, dual-spoke bicolor 800M alloy wheels remain unchanged.
On the inside, it features a mix of black and Alcantara leather upholstery. The Alcantara leather is used on the steering wheel, race-type seats, and the parts of dashboard. Additionally, the door sills, steering wheel, and the centre console, along with the floor mats, get the ‘Final Edition’ badging.
No mechanical changes
As the Final Edition is based on the M40i variant, BMW did not want to change the driving feel of the last Z4 ever. Therefore, the Z4 Final Edition continues using the same 3.0-litre, inline-six turbo petrol engine that offers 382 bhp and 500 Nm of power and torque, respectively. This engine is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission and a FWD configuration.
BMW Z4 Final Edition availability
BMW has announced that the Z4 Final Edition will be available in select markets by January 2026. However, its production will end in March 2026, which means that the last batch of cars shall roll out by April 2026.
BMW is yet to determine its pricing and availability in the UAE.
Iconic history of BMW Z4
The Z4 became an instant hit when it was first introduced in 2002 as the Z4 E85. It was a cool-looking, compact yet fun car to own, which was later used by celebrities and featured in the movies, making it one of the most iconic convertible cars of all time.
In 2008, BMW introduced the next-gen Z4 called E89, which further elevated its nameplate internationally with its exceptional driving feel and performance. However, the last generation of the Z4 (G29) was introduced in 2018, which will be discontinued in 2026.
