What is the Skoda Superb’s new world record?
Â

Â
When it comes to range, nothing can beat the diesel engines. That’s exactly what the latest record set by the 20205 European Rally Championship winner Miko Marczyk conveys to the world.
Â
Miko has completed a drive of 2,831 km in his Superb recently. However, this drive went straight into the Guinness World Record book as it was done without any refuelling. Yes, you read it correctly. No refuel.
Â
To set this record, Miko used his personal white Superb diesel. A frugal sedan that is globally famous for its comfort and performance. Moreover, the car used was in its complete stock form, leaving aside the 15mm lowered suspension for better aerodynamics.
Â
The drive began from Poland, which then headed to Germany and Paris, before heading back via the Netherlands, Belgium, and Germany. These stretches included uphill sections in Germany and a sweet tailwind in France, which helped him achieve this world record.
Â
How did he do it?
Â
Some simple calculations and a lot of courage, which Miko is surely full of being a rally driver, helped him achieve this remarkable feat. He filled 66 litres of diesel, sealed the fuel lid, and drove the car lightfoot, as lightly as possible.
Â
Moreover, he did not use any unnecessary electronics, AC or heater, and kept the maximum speed under the 80 km/h mark. All of these combined helped in achieving the maximum range of 2,831 km.
Â
While heading towards Germany, he achieved a maximum mileage of 38 km/l, but while coming back, the tailwind helped in reaching this figure to 45 km/l - the highest recorded ever!
Â
What’s next for Miko and his Skoda Superb?
Â
After achieving the world record, Miko firmly believes that he can easily do more than 3,000 km on a single tank of diesel in his Superb. While it sounds ambitious, Miko says that the green diesel and some route recalculations will help him achieve the next feat.

Cars24 UAE says
Â
The diesel cars have always been known for their frugal nature. Long-distance travellers with high annual mileage always opt for diesels for their mileage and range. The newly set world record by Miko is another testament to the fact that “diesel is the king”.
