What to expect from the 2026 BMW X7?

Spied recently on the European roads, the upcoming X7 test mule, aka codenamed G67, is seen with heavy camouflage. However, its all-new ‘Neue Klasse’ design language is visible in the photos. It is based on BMW’s CLAR or Cluster architecture.
The front shape of the updated X7 will see a new grille with an illuminated logo and slats, which will replace the chrome of the current model. Moreover, the split LED headlights will get a redesign with a new DRL setup.

However, the main change is seen on the side profile. The test car has streamlined panels, a large rear quarter glass, and flush door handles, all inspired by the new BMW iX3 EV.
We are speculating that the rear shape will feature a new connected LED taillight setup, a redesigned bumper, and redesigned quad exhaust tips.
Interior and features of the 2026 BMW X7
Although the cabin details are yet to be revealed in spy shots, we can safely assume that the new X7 will feature a redesigned interior. The first addition will be a new dashboard with a full-length panoramic display, an augmented reality HUD, a new double-D-cut steering wheel like the iX3 EV, and new cabin themes.
Other updates will include cleaner surface panels with glass highlights, use of recycled leather materials, atmospheric lighting, dimming moonroof, and other aesthetic features.
What about the engine specs of the 2026 BMW X7?

Powering the new X7 will be the current array of petrol and diesel engine options. We speculate that the powertrains will not be altered, and neither will the performance.
These will include the 3.0-litre, inline-six diesel engine and a 4.4-litre, V8 turbo petrol engine. However, a new M70 version is rumoured to be launched with 800 bhp or more power.
However, it is being rumoured online that it will get an adaptive air suspension, adaptive dampers, active anti-roll control, and even a rear-axle steering for better manoeuvrability.
Is there an electric 2026 BMW X7 coming soon?
Adding to the expectations is an all-electric version of the X7, which is likely to be called iX7. It will be based on the 800V architecture, and possibly use the same battery and powertrain as the iX3 EV, but in a bigger avatar. It could possibly offer a range of more than 700 km.
Our verdict
The X7 SUV is one of the top luxury cars in Dubai and around the world. The current model is overdue for an update, which shall be fulfilled by the upcoming model. The new-gen X7 will offer modern technology, a new design language, and an electrified version.
