Suzuki Fronx EREV: What to expect?
Suzuki’s compact crossover Fronx is a popular car in the UAE and in other countries as well. In fact, it is one of the top-selling crossovers in India.
While the UAE-spec model is equipped with a 1.5-litre engine, Suzuki offers the Fronx with a 1.2-litre engine in select markets. However, this is going to get massively updated with a new EREV powertrain replacement.
A test car was recently spotted in the global market with this new EREV powertrain and Level 2 ADAS features. As per the online reports, the new range-extender engine will massively increase the mileage of Fronx.
Suzuki Fronx EREV Hybrid details
As per the known details, Suzuki is developing the new range-extender powertrain on the new 1.2-litre Z12E engine that also powers the new-gen Swift internationally.
This powertrain will use the engine as a generator and charge the electric motors, which will further drive the car completely on electric power. With this technology, Suzuki will be able to incorporate more fuel efficiency and smoothness, along with improved comfort.
As of now, Suzuki has been offering series-parallel hybrid electric engines, which are shared with Toyota. But this new powertrain will revamp the whole crossover segment.
Some online reports hint at a maximum range upwards of 1,200 km on a single tank of fuel. If so, this would translate into 35 km/l fuel economy, which is substantially higher than the current engine.

The UAE-spec Fronx is loaded with modern safety features, including a 360-degree camera, HUD, 6 airbags, and more. However, the new-gen Fronx will offer Level 2 ADAS, including the following features:
