2026 Volkswagen T-Roc: Design

Entering the second generation, the T-Roc has now received a completely new styling. It looks more evolved and futuristic with the new highlights like the connected LED lights and clean body lines.

The new bonnet design, matched with the improved aerodynamics of the car, results in a 0.29Cd coefficient of drag, which makes the new-gen T-Roc one of the most aerodynamic SUVs in the segment.

The overall size is now bigger as the new-gen car is 12 mm longer than the previous generation. Additionally, it has a sloping roofline with a coupe-like rear design, which has been the essence of its design.

Other new design bits include the new front fascia with illuminated logo, new IQ Matrix LED headlights, and a new bumper with piano black highlights. 

Similarly, the side is now improved with the new 20-inch blacked-out alloy wheels and new ORVMs.

2026 Volkswagen T-Roc: Engine specifications

The second-generation T-Roc is based on the MQB Evo platform, which is also shared with the current Tiguan. Volkswagen has introduced two new e-Hybrid or mild-hybrid engines with the new T-Roc.

The first is a 1.5-litre eTSI that makes 114 bhp and 220 Nm of power and torque. It is mated to a 7-speed DSG automatic transmission.

The second option is also a 1.5-litre eTSI, but it offers a higher state of tune, which results in 148 bhp and 250 Nm of power and torque. It also gets the 7-speed DSG automatic transmission.

Both of the eTSI engines get a 48V battery power that adds 19 bhp during conditions where power is immediately required. It also features idle start/stop to improve the mileage.

Volkswagen claims that a new 2.0-litre TSI engine will be added to the T-Roc later, which will be offered with the 4Motion AWD and the 48V mild-hybrid technology.

There is also a new 1.5-litre TSI evo2 strong-hybrid engine that will mark its debut later. It will be offered in two power options: 134 bhp/168 bhp, and 306 Nm of torque. It will offer high fuel efficiency numbers.

The second-generation T-Roc is now available for pre-bookings in Germany. It will go on sale in November in Germany.
