Toyota has started working on the first big update of its 8-seater MPV, the Innova Hycross. A latest test mule was spotted in India, where the upcoming model’s front design was spied with new-generation Hilux-inspired design.

Toyota Innova Hycross facelift: What to expect?

The upcoming Innova Hycross facelift was spotted testing in India recently. The new model will be the first big update for the MPV ever since it was introduced in the international market in 2022.

As seen in the spy shots, the front design of the facelifted model looks inspired by the new-generation Hilux pickup truck. This is evident from the sleek LED headlights that are partially visible through the camouflage, which look like the new Hilux.

Additionally, the front grille and bumper seems to have an ‘edgy’ profile, which was unveiled on the newer Toyota models like the RAV4 Hybrid and the new Hilux too. This also clarifies that the updated Innova Hycross facelift will get a new exterior design, and it will not just be a mild facelift.

On the other hand, the side profile of the test car looks identical to the current model. While its wheels are covered, we suspect that the production model will get a set of new alloy wheel design, but the car will be unaltered from the side.

The rear profile was also captured in the new spy shots. The upcoming Innova Hycross facelift will get a set of revised LED taillights, which are visible in the spy images. Moreover, we can see a new rear bumper, which will elevate its overall design.

Toyota will also upgrade the interior styling and features on the new Innova Hycross facelift. A previous test car sighting has revealed that it will get a bigger infotainment screen, which is likely to offer improved UI and more features.

Similarly, Toyota could also add new features like the powered second-row seats with ventilation, extended thigh support, electrically-operated sun blinds, and more. We also expect that Toyota will focus on the quality of the materials used by adding more soft-touch elements throughout the cabin.

Toyota is known for its durability, and the brand does not easily change the powertrains on its facelifted models. Hence, we can safely say that the new Innova Hycross will remain unaltered mechanically.

Toyota offers the Innova Hycross with a 2.0-litre four-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine with a CVT gearbox in the UAE. Meanwhile, the international market also gets a 2.0-litre hybrid engine, which offers a blend of good mileage and smooth performance.

These engine options are likely to be offered as is. One more addition that Toyota could focus on is the ADAS safety suite, where the brand is expected to add more features on the facelifted Innova Hycross. These could include pedestrian collision avoidance, high-beam assist, cornering lights, and more.

When will it launch?

Toyota is expected to introduce the new Innova Hycross next year in the global market, including the GCC market. The current model is priced from AED 126,900 in the UAE, and we expect that the new facelifted model will be priced similarly.
