Mercedes-Benz GLC EV: Exterior design
The new-generation GLC EQ is based on an all-electric 800V MB.EA platform. On the front, it is loaded with a big illuminated grille that has 942 LED lights lit up in the three-pointed star shape.
Additionally, the overall silhouette of the GLC EQ looks similar to the ICE GLC. However, it offers a 0.26Cd coefficient of drag, which makes the performance effortless and efficient.
Apart from the new grille, it has 20-inch aerodynamic alloys that can be upgraded to the optional 21-inch alloys. Moreover, the rear shape, especially the connected LED lights, resembles that of the CLA EV.
Mercedes-Benz GLC EV: Interiors and features
On the inside, the GLC EV features an all-new cabin draped in leather upholstery and high-quality materials. However, the talking point is the new 39.1-inch full-length screen on the dashboard that has the latest MBUX operating system.
Although this screen is optional, it features a trademark technology that enables drivers to focus on the road as the screen brightness gets controlled automatically.
Other key design highlights include the dashboard-connected centre console, turbine-inspired AC vents with illumination, and a flat floor design for extra room at the rear.

Mercedes-Benz GLC EV: Battery, specs, range
As the new GLC is based on a new platform, it gets two drivetrain options: GLC EQ 300+ and GLC EQ 400 4Matic.
The GLC EQ 300+ is an FWD option that gets a 94kWh battery pack producing 374 bhp of power. It can reach a top speed of 210 km/h. Charging takes 24 minutes for a 10-80% jump.
It supports 330kW fast charging and is compatible with 400V and 800V chargers. The range of this variant is yet to be revealed.
Meanwhile, the GLC EQ 400 4Matic is the AWD option that offers 489 bhp of power and a WLTP-claimed range of 713 km.
Mercedes-Benz GLC EV: UAE launch and price
Mercedes will launch the GLC EV in Europe later this year. It has plans to bring it to the other countries next year, including the UAE.
