Mercedes-Benz CLA EV battery, range, specs
The new CLA EV is based on the Mercedes Modular Architecture, aka MMA, which supports up to 800V. Launched in China initially, the electric CLA sedan is a compact car with an entry-level positioning.
The Chinese version is 40 mm longer than the international car. In terms of dimensions, it measures 4,763 mm in length, 1,836 mm in width, and 1,471 mm in height. The wheelbase of the CLA EV is 2,830 mm.
Powering the CLA EV is a 200 kW electric motor, which is paired with a two-speed transmission. This powertrain offers a WLTP-claimed range of up to 866 km.
Exterior design
The electric CLA draws its design inspiration from the CLA concept model. It looks identical to the ICE model, but features aerodynamic traits, including a new closed grille with illuminated logo and a full-width LED lightbar.
The front bumper features active aero dams for improved performance and efficiency. On the side profile, it gets a sloping roofline like a coupe, and comes equipped with aerodynamic wheels and flush door handles.
The rear shape has a ducktail spoiler and a full-width LED lightbar with circular LED taillights.
Interior and features
The cabin of the CLA EV is equipped with a triple-screen full-width display on the dashboard. It also gets improved seats and high-grade materials for an upmarket luxury feel.
Powering these screens is the latest MB OS with Snapdragon 8925 hardware for quick response and no lag. It gets the MBUX navigation and 3D maps for an immersive experience.
