Tesla Model Y L: All details explained

As per the latest details leaked via China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology website, Tesla has registered a new long-wheelbase version of the Model Y, called Model Y L.

This upcoming Model Y L will be offered in a 6-seater version with captain seats. However, there are online rumours that a 7-seater version with bench seats is also under development.

Tesla has increased the wheelbase of the Model Y L by 150 mm, which will offer more interior space and cargo space for passengers.

As per the leaked document information, the Model Y L is 186 mm longer than the standard 5-seater Model Y. Moreover, it gets 44 mm taller to accommodate the increased interior space and various seating layouts.

In terms of design changes, the new Model Y L gets new alloy wheels, a boot-integrated spoiler, and a new golden paint shade.

Tesla Model Y L: Battery and specifications

Powering the Model Y L will be the same battery pack as the regular Model Y. However, it will generate 13 bhp more power output as compared to the Model Y.

The rated power output for the Model Y in the leaked documents is 456 bhp, which is more than the 443 bhp power of the 5-seater version.

As of now, the other crucial details like range, acceleration, and more are unknown.
