New Nissan Micra EV - Battery specs and range

First things first, the all-new Nissan Micra EV is going to be offered in two battery pack options: 40 kWh and 52 kWh.

The entry-level variants will get the smaller 40 kWh battery pack, which develops 122 bhp of power, 225 Nm of torque, and offers a WLTP-claimed range of up to 308 km per charge.

Meanwhile, the bigger 52 kWh battery pack option offers 150 bhp and 245 Nm of peak power and torque, respectively. The range it offers as per the WLTP-claim is 408 km on a single charge.

While both the battery pack options are loaded with the Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) charging facility for utility purposes, it is the 52 kWh battery option that gets rapid charging of 100 kW.

The 52 kWh battery pack option can be charged from 15-80% in just 30 minutes with a 100 kW fast charger.

None of the battery packs gets an AWD, both are front-wheel drive.

The new Nissan Micra EV is based on the AmpR Small platform, which is also shared with the Renault 5 EV globally. 

The design language of the new Micra has been kept funky and interesting, as it is equipped with circular LED lights, gloss black body cladding, 18-inch dual-tone aerodynamic alloy wheels, and a black contrasting roof colour.

Dimension-wise, it is just shy of the 4-meter mark in length and 1.8 meters in height, which makes it a proper electric urban crossover. 

The cargo space of the Micra EV is 326 litres, adequate for a small family.

The rear door handles are mounted into the window column, which adds to its young and energetic persona.
