Everything to know about the BMW Middle East recall
As per the official information, BMW Middle East has recalled 16 models. These models are prone to ignition starter motor-related failure that can cause fire in extreme cases.
BMW says that the ignition starter motor on the affected models has an electromagnet that wears out prematurely and aggressively. This leads to overheating, which can further lead to a short circuit and even fire in extreme cases. Although no fire-related accidents have been reported, BMW is ensuring that all affected cars get rectified as soon as possible.
To solve this issue, BMW has already started contacting the present owners of these models. Speaking of the affected cars, all models were manufactured between July 2020 and July 2022. These car models are as follows:
- BMW 2 Series Coupe
- BMW 3 Series
- BMW 4 Series
- BMW 5 Series sedan
- BMW X5
- BMW X6
- BMW Z4
While the brand has mostly received issues with the car not starting, the fire risk potential can not be denied. Moreover, the total number of BMW cars affected by this recall in the Middle East include six-digit number.
What is the solution?
