Next-gen BMW iX3 EV: Battery, specs, range

The second-generation iX3 is going to be based on an all-new ‘Neue Klasse’ architecture. It will be the first model to debut the new EV platform.
While the complete details are yet to be revealed, BMW has informed that it will get a maximum range of up to 800 km, along with an all-wheel drivetrain.
Additionally, it will get fast charging support due to its 800V structure, which will add up to 350 km of range in just 10 minutes of charging.
As the new iX3 will compete with the upcoming Mercedes-Benz GLC EQ, we can safely assume that it will be offered with different battery packs and varying driving ranges.
With the new platform, BMW claims to have increased the energy density of the batteries by up to 30% as compared to the current-gen model. Moreover, BMW says it has not made new batteries for the upcoming iX3, and rather used the current battery options.
New design language

BMW has teased the upcoming iX3 on the internet. The front fascia silhouette image shows an all-new design with a closed grille and new key elements.
The teaser shows a new illuminated grille, an illuminated logo, and the new inverted L-shaped dual-pod LED DRLs.
The prototype car images were released earlier this year, which showed a sizeable SUV with new body lines and a new connected LED light at the rear.

Interestingly, the new iX3 will be a completely new car made from scratch, based on an EV-only platform. However, the current model is based on the ICE version; hence, it has multiple limitations to its interior space, battery performance, and range.
New features and interiors
With that said, BMW is set to introduce its new Operating System X on the 2026 iX3. This is the latest version of the BMW iDrive system, offering AI-enabled and new smart features.
The new iX3 EV will also debut the most advanced level of the autonomous safety assistance system, i.e., the ADAS module.
2026 BMW iX3 EV: UAE launch and price
Considering the growing demand for premium luxury EVs, BMW is eyeing global markets to launch the new iX3. It will certainly make it to the UAE sometime next year.
We suspect that it will be priced somewhere around AED 310,000.
Our verdict
The new-generation iX3 electric SUV will offer a new, efficient, safe, and modern platform, which will unlock a new level of luxury experience for customers. More details are likely to be revealed on September 5, when the car will debut at Munich, Germany.
